Zesty alt-pop with a dose of indie in its veins, ‘We’re Not The Same’ is about two friends drifting apart as they grow older – it’s a message of realism, and self-awareness, while learning to separate yourself from toxicity.
She comments…
‘We’re Not The Same’ is about growing apart from a childhood best friend. We went from being totally inseparable to biting each other’s heads off 24/7. It all became quite toxic and I was so exhausted by the end which is what I think this song encapsulates. This song is coming to terms with the fact that growing up and maturing can sometimes mean you lose a friendship that you once valued a lot.
