Canadian rapper AR Paisley has today shared his new single ‘G-Shock’, alongside collaborator Lazyeye, out via 91 North Records.

An homage to West Coast rap, ‘G-Shock’ sees the rapper assume form through ball of fire rhymes documenting his origin story and come-up. Part of a vanguard of South Asian rappers and producers coming to the fore, AR Paisley memorializes buying G-Shock watches at the mall as a youngster, juxtaposing humble purchases against the luxuries and privileges he’s acquired in his adult life.

‘G-SHOCK’ follows the all-Asian collaborative project ‘East To West’ with Chani Nattan and Inderpal Moga released last year, which came with a viral On The Radar performance. AR Paisley was awarded the Hip Hop/Rap Artist of the Year at Canadian Music Week in 2023. His recent releases include a track titled ‘Drippy’ with the late Sidhu Moose Wala, which racked up more than 15 million views in less than a week, whilst charting in the top ten of the Canadian Billboard Hot 100.
