Bon Iver will release new album ‘SABLE, fABLE’ on April 11th.
Justin Vernon returned in Autumn, sharing his ‘SABLE’ EP to widespread acclaim. His new studio album builds on this, both incorporating and moving beyond the EP.
Out on April 11th, ‘SABLE, fABLE’ features 12 songs, with new song ‘Everything Is Peaceful Love’ set to land on Valentine’s Day. A full video for the song is incoming, directed by John Wilson.
Produced by Justin Vernon and Jim-E Stack, the bulk of ‘SABLE, fABLE’ was recorded at Vernon’s April Base in Wisconsin – the studio had been dormant for some time undergoing renovation, and this is one of the first projects it has held since re-opening.
Seemingly the spark for the album came on 2.22.22 – Danielle Haim was a guest, and the trio were snowed in for several days, during which they completed the album cut ‘If Only I Could Wait’.
Justin Vernon will discuss ‘SABLE, fABLE’ in depth on February 21st, taking part in a conversation with acclaimed author and broadcaster Krista Tippett.
The event closes out the annual On Air Fest in Brooklyn, NY, with audio of the interview streaming live via KCRW’s on-site internet radio broadcast, and later available via On Being.
