Erasure vocalist Andy Bell will release new solo album ‘Ten Crowns’ on May 2nd.
The incoming LP is his third “sort-of solo record”, and it finds Andy Bell working alongside close friend and guest producer Dave Audé.
, the material on the record moves between dazzling pop – produced in Nashville – and gospel-saturating vocals. Built in the year he turned 60, it’s both celebratory and reflective.
“I mean, I’ve got everything I could possibly wish for, you know, I really have, but that’s not to say I’m always fulfilled,” Andy adds. “This album’s about picking yourself up, dusting yourself off, embracing life – and about taking that feeling on even when you’re fighting demons in the world, like homophobia, and fighting demons in yourself. It’s about being celebratory and uplifting.”
Blondie legend Debbie Harry guests on ‘Hearts A Liar’, with lead single ‘Don’t Cha Know’ representing “the beginning of the expedition” that would become ‘Ten Crowns’.
A rapturous, devoutly emotional experience, the video is directed by Stephano Barberis.
