The trailer for Flying Lotus’ upcoming sci-fi horror film has dropped.
Ash, out in cinemas in the US on 21st March, centres on a space captain who wakes up alone to find her crew murdered. The film is based on a play and stars Eliza González and Aaron Paul. Flying Lotus also appears in the role of a character named Davis.
“I’ve a strong desire to innovate in the sci-fi space,” FlyLo told Deadline back in 2022, “and I really want to show the world something they’ve never seen before.”

This is FlyLo’s second directorial turn following 2017 body horror Kuso. He also soundtracked LeSean Thomas and Takeshi Satou’s Yasuke, a six-part anime series released via Netflix in 2022.
Also in 2022, he co-wrote and directed the soundtrack for a segment in the horror anthology ‘V/H/S/99’, which was streaming on Shudder, and produced the main title theme for the Apple Original documentary series, ‘They Call Me Magic’.
Last year, the producer and composer surprise-released a new EP for Warp, ‘Spirit Box’, which included two previously released singles: the Twin Peaks-inspired ‘Garmonbozia’ and house track ‘Ingo Swann’.
