Raucous indie-grunge trio HotWax raise the roof on new single ‘One More Reason’.
Out now, the single paves the way for the band’s next step – their eagerly awaited debut album. Set to be unleashed on March 7th via Marathon Artists, it was produced by Catherine Marks – who caught HotWax in action during a sweat-drenched London show, and turned her fandom into a mercurial studio role.
New single ‘One More Reason’ comes as HotWax prepare to hit intimate London venue the Divine (tomorrow night, January 16th) and it spotlights their raucous power.
Dialling it back, the song spotlights their studio finesse, while also leaving the raw DIY aspects in place. Shot through with precocious humour, the track comes with a video directed by long-time collaborator Josh Quinton – it’s themed around a collaged punk catwalk featuring underground legend Princess Julia and with clothes designed and styled by Greta.
Tallulah Sim-Savage says of the song…
When we were at Stella’s [Mozgawa, of Warpaint] studio in Joshua Tree we were jamming together and Lola started with this bass riff, instantly Stella said ‘We have to record this’. We got it down as a jam idea and over the next months we wrote One More Reason. We wanted it to feel like the opening song at a festival set, we wanted it to be relentless and addictive. It’s about loving someone so much you kinda hate it, which is relentless and addictive.
Tune in now.
