Rising songwriter Judy Blank returns with new single ‘Dinosaurs’.
The Dutch artist has always travelled a long way in her career – and we mean that literally! Now based in Nashville, America’s very own Music City, Judy has been chasing her dream for some time now, and it looks like it’s coming to fruition.
Freshly signed to revered stable Rounder Records, label President Stephanie Hudacek calls her “extraordinary” – “a true original who defies easy categorisation”.
Sealing the deal, folk-edged indie jewel ‘Dinosaurs’ is out now, and it radiates with Judy Blank’s easy-going personality.
There’s a shining innocence to the song, with Judy playing with notions of light and shade across its finessed span.
“I was obsessed with disaster movies as a kid,” she says. “Now I sometimes feel like I’m living in one. When I wrote this song, I thought of it as a postcard from the future. I hope it can be a low-key reminder that it’s time to change the ending.”
Catch her at Two Palms in London on May 15th.
Tune in now.
