Karin Ann and Duncan Laurence combine on new single ‘choking on my words’.

Karin Ann enjoyed a terrific 2024, with her debut album ‘through the telescope’ winning huge acclaim. A potent and personal document of emotional evolution, she closed the year with a haunting, frosted take on Chris Isaak’s ‘Wicked Game’.

New song ‘choking on my words’ opens her account for the year, and it’s a bold, emotive return. Karin’s passion for melody permeates the release, while collaborator Duncan Laurence adds a different streak of colour to the arrangement.

“I wrote this song about the idea of having a conversation with the dark parts of yourself, maybe
the parts of yourself that you don’t want to face but need to in order to process things and move
on,” tells Karin. “Collaborating with Duncan felt so natural; his approach and perspective brought a
new layer to the track that I couldn’t have imagined on my own. I’m so proud of what we created.”
