Lady Gaga’s next album is partly inspired by industrial dance music, she’s revealed in an interview with the Los Angeles Times.

The album is currently untitled but has is referred to as ‘LG7’ in the interview, in which Gaga also reveals that she worked with French DJ and producer Gesaffelstein on its production. Speaking to interviewer Mikael Wood, she said that she “loved collaborating with all the DJs and Gesaffelstein on my new album”, suggesting that other currently unnamed figures were also involved in the record’s making.

“I loved learning about industrial music and about all the different crevices of electronic music,” the US artist added. “One of the things I’ve probably been judged for in my career was not sticking to one thing. But not sticking to one thing is my life force.

She continued: “[The album] leaps around genre in a way that’s almost corrupt. And it ends with love. That’s the answer to all the chaos in my life is that I find peace with love.”

The record is reportedly set for release in February, but full details are currently under wraps. Lead singles ‘Disease’ and ‘Die With A Smile’ have been released over the past two months.

The new album will follow on from 2020’s ‘Chromatica’, which featured production by Skrillex, Axwell, Boys Noize and more. 

Gesaffelstein has previously worked with pop stars including Charli XCX and The Weeknd.

Gaga will headline next year’s Coachella in April, sharing the bill with the likes of Kraftwerk, The Prodigy and Missy Elliott.
