As part of this, Matt Maltese doffs his cap to Chet Baker on a new version of ‘My Funny Valentine’ – a jazz standard keen associated with Chet, it’s given a heady new treatment by the UK vocalist.
A loving salute, Matt Maltese comments…
“Chet Baker was of course a very large influence growing up. A masterful vocalist who taught me how to sing gently and like I mean it. No one should really cover the song I’ve covered, but I hope it can be received as an ode to the greatest to have done it.”
Tune in now.
