Morcheeba are back with their first new single in four years called ‘Call For Love’ for 100% Records. Listen to it below.
The new single is the first preview at the UK duo’s upcoming album, due out later this year, and the 11th for the Morcheeba project in three decades. The trip-hop outfit last released new music in 2021 with the album ‘Blackest Blue‘, which got a complementary remix LP in 2022. Founded in 1995 by Skye Edwards and brothers Paul and Ross Godfrey, Morcheeba has been a duo with its present lineup of Edwards and Ross Godfrey since 2014.
“An apocalypse is always on the horizon, both personal and global. It is comforting to take refuge in music and love with those close to us”, Edwards said about the track in a press statement. “When it came to writing lyrics for this song, I thought to myself, ’What would I like to hear from a certain someone, if and when they were ready to say sorry?’ As it turned out, it was also what I needed to say to them”.
In 2018, Lindstrøm and Prins Thomas remixed Morcheeba’s ‘It’s Summertime‘ off their ‘Blaze Away’ LP.
