Wookie has released a new track, ‘Salt & Pepper’.

The song, which you can listen to below, features vocals by Tom Dunne and combines the skipping UK garage rhythms of classic Wookie material with airy synth melodies.

‘Salt & Pepper’ is the first taste of a wider forthcoming project from Wookie, which will mark his first full-length project since 2000. The new project will blend UK garage with elements of jazz and soul music, according to a press release.

The release of ‘Salt & Pepper’ will be backed with remixes of the track by P-rallel and Keanu, which are due out in the coming weeks.

Wookie also appears in a new documentary, which explores the history of Black music specialist record stores in the UK.
